Naikai Zosen partners with Mitsui E&S for LNG-fuelled ferry
The ferry is the first LNG-fuelled 15,600GT ferry on the Oarai – Tomakomai route.
Naikai Zosen Corporation has tapped Mitsui E&S Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (MES-S) for its Sunflower Kamuy vessel.
Under the partnership, MES-S provided a fuel gas supply system (FGSS), which includes the fuel tank and gas part engineering of the vessel.
“MES-S studied optimal configuration of equipment and fuel tank capacity together with NAIKAI from the initial engineering phase of this vessel,” MES-S said in a statement.
Sunflower Kamuy is the first LNG-fuelled 15,600GT ferry on the Oarai – Tomakomai route built by Naikai Zosen.
