Stena RoRo expands fleet with 13th E-Flexer from Chinese shipyard
The latest vessel, Capu Rossu, was handed over to French operator CORSICA LINEA.
Stena RoRo has taken delivery of the 13th vessel in its 15-ship E-Flexer RoPax series from the China Merchants Industry shipyard in Weihai, China.
The latest vessel, Capu Rossu, was handed over to French operator CORSICA LINEA with commercial operations set to begin in mid-June on the Marseille–Corsica route.
Unlike standard RoPax vessels, the E-Flexer design is larger and modular, allowing each ship to be customised to operator-specific technical and commercial requirements.
The series incorporates optimised hull forms, multifuel engines and battery power systems, positioning the vessels toward lower operating costs and reduced emissions.
According to Stena RoRo CEO Per Westling, newbuild orders are becoming the primary lever for cutting carbon dioxide emissions in the ferry sector.
