TCL Industries-Hutchison ports explore carbon-cutting logistics in new deal

They will explore AI, IoT, and clean energy for shipping, logistics, and port operations.

TCL Industries and Hutchison Ports have agreed to explore carbon reduction, green port infrastructure, and digital technologies for shipping, logistics, and global supply chains.

The companies announced the memorandum of understanding at the Shenzhen Port Global Supply Chain High-Quality Development Conference 2026.

The companies said they plan to research carbon reduction solutions across logistics supply chains and develop green port infrastructure by integrating clean energy and energy-saving technologies.

They also plan to apply artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and big data to improve coordination across port and logistics networks.

“We will fully leverage our deep expertise in digital transformation and clean energy to work alongside Hutchison Ports, driving the entire industry towards a higher-quality, more sustainable new era,” said Weiguo Shi, Vice President of TCL Industries.

Eric Ip, Group Managing Director of Hutchison Ports, said the partnership would focus on integrating green infrastructure with digital technologies.

The companies said they will establish regular communication mechanisms to advance the partnership and support the development of a zero-carbon, smart global logistics ecosystem.
