CMES and RINA explore cooperation in maritime technology
Companies will examine fleet safety, risk management, and carbon emissions management.
China Merchants Energy Shipping (CMES) and maritime classification and engineering consultancy RINA have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to explore cooperation in maritime safety, digitalisation and emerging shipping technologies.
The agreement establishes a framework for collaboration across technical and operational areas, building on the existing relationship between the two organisations.
Under the MoU, the companies will explore fleet safety and risk management, carbon emissions management and regulatory compliance.
They will also examine the use of artificial intelligence in predictive maintenance, energy efficiency, and operational decision-making, alongside digitalisation and data-driven vessel operations.
The cooperation will also cover alternative fuels, smart shipping technologies, automation, and other emerging maritime innovations.
CMES and RINA will also pursue technical exchanges, research activities, and knowledge sharing to support operational excellence and address changes in maritime regulations and technology.
