Imabari delivers 64,000-ton-type bulk carrier

The new ship can carry various loads, such as grain, coal, and cement.

Imabari Shipbuilding has delivered the new Diamond Island, a 64,000-ton-type bulk carrier built in Iwagi Zosen Co., Ltd.

According to the company, the new vessel is an ocean-going handy-max size bulk carrier applying the Common Structural Rules. It has a gross tonnage of 36,278 and speed of around 14 knots.

Each cargo hold has topside and hopper tanks, making it suitable for loading various types of cargo such as bulk cargoes, grain, coal, ore, cement, steel coil, and long-size steel, etc.

The ship features wide cargo hatch openings with a folding-type hatch cover and four sets of deck cranes.

Diamond Island carries the flag of Panama.
