India achieves dual milestones on 1,390 km National Waterway-1

The Kalughat Intermodal Terminal secured a 38.30% share of gross revenue for IWAI.

The Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) achieved two milestones under the Jal Marg Vikas Project for National Waterway-1, which spans 1,390 kilometres. 

The Kalughat Intermodal Terminal in Bihar was handed over to SAPL - Summit Alliance Port East Gateway under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, securing a 38.30% share of gross revenue for IWAI.

Concurrently, the Haldia Multi-Modal Terminal in West Bengal, which has a handling capacity of 3.08 million metric tonnes per annum, commenced cargo operations, beginning with a consignment from Tata Steel.
