India and Norway hold talks for green maritime technologies

They hope to deepen cooperation in the shipping industry.

Relevant government officials from India and Norway recently conducted bilateral talks to discuss possible cooperation on green maritime.

In a statement, India’s Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways said both parties agreed to deepen cooperation and exchange experiences on ferry system electrification, drawing inspiration from Norway’s successful implementation of the initiative.

They also discussed deeper collaboration in green maritime technologies. They looked into joint efforts in smart logistics, digital port ecosystems, and clean coastal shipping.

The governments also looked into possibilities and opportunities in Ship Recycling, Seafarer’s Training, Sustainable Fisheries and Ocean Management, Ocean Renewable Energy, and Offshore Hydrocarbons.
