K Line delivers second LNG carrier to Petronas
It was built at Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding in China.
Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha ("K" LINE) delivered its second new liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier to PETRONAS LNG Ltd. (PLL), with Puteri Kedah handed over on 30 June, following its sister vessel Puteri Johor's delivery on 29 May.
Both vessels are owned by "K" LINE joint venture companies, and were built at Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding in China.
The names reference Malaysian geography: Johor, the country's southernmost state, and Kedah, in northwestern Peninsular Malaysia. ‘Puteri’ means princess in Malay.
"K" LINE said the deliveries will strengthen PLL's fleet and support reliable LNG delivery to its customers.
The company designated LNG as a top-priority business area in its Medium-Term Management Plan.
