ICTSI inks deal to operate Indonesia’s Batu Ampar container port
The company will run the facility for 30 years.
International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI) has secured a deal to develop and operate the Batu Ampar Container Terminal (BACT) in Indonesia.
In a bourse filing, ICTSI said the agreement with state-run PT Batam Terminal Petikamas was secured through PT Batu Ampar Container Terminal, the Philippines-based company’s joint venture with PT Interport Sarana Infrastruktur Indonesia.
The 30-year deal involves the operating and development of the port terminal.
BACT, the main container terminal for Batam Island, has 1,032 metres of operational quay length, five ship-to-shore cranes, and a fully developed backup area. In 2024, the local market exceeded 600,000 twenty-foot equivalent units.
