Samudera Shipping container shipments inch up in Q3
All its vessels are employed under charter deals during the period.
Samudera Shipping Line Ltd. has reported a slight increase in its container shipments, reaching 503,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU) in the third quarter (Q3) of 2025.
According to a bourse filing, the latest container shipping data reflects an increase from 486,000 TEU in the same period last year. Latest data also slightly increased from the second quarter’s 500,000 TEU.
Amidst a volatile market, the average freight rate for Q3 was $252, which was lower than the $287 recorded last year.
For bulk and tanker, Samudera said all its vessels are employed under charter contracts.
“Operating margin has been adversely impacted due to ongoing operational challenges and high dry docking costs related to certain vessels,” the company said.
