$1.3 Million Order Secured by Singapore Distributor

 

Lincoln Australia, one of the largest manufacturers of quality and durable arc welding equipment and electrodes in the world for more than 39 years, whose products are designed to satisfy exacting performance criteria under everyday working conditions in the world, have established a reputation for technical excellence and reliability.
The Company, presently the leading manufacturer in Australia and serving both the domestic and export markets, received Export Awards for outstanding export achievements by the Australian Government in 1965 and 1970.
Lincoln’s products have already been exported to Singapore since the 1950s. With the increasing exports into the Republic, Lincoln Australia established a Regional Office in Singapore in July, 1974.

Mr. Seet Choo Chua has been appointed the Regional Manager for South East Asia since January, 1976. He is assisted by Mr. Stephen Vella, a Welding Engineer. The Singapore Office at 1914, Goldhill Shopping Centre, Thomson Road, Singapore 11, covers sales territories in the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei and Singapore.

It provides back-ups to the Company’s appointed distributors in selling, technical advice and after sales services.

A main Lincoln Australia’s appointed distributor in Singapore, Sin Soon Huat Pte. Ltd., of 43 Kallang Road, Singapore 8, recently secured orders worth S$1.3 million of welding equipment and consumables for the local industries. According to Mr. Peter Lim, Managing Director of Sin Soon Huat Pte. Ltd., this shipment forms part of a large consignment that will cater for the continuous demand by offshore industries, oil refineries and rig builders, shipyards, engineering companies and contractors. Furthermore, Sin Soon Huat Pte. Ltd.
has a workshop to facilitate demonstration and training of modern arc welding.
The shipment of 10 containers arrived from Sydney on 12th September on board the ‘Neptune Emerald’. Mr. Sunny Tan, Assistant Sales & Marketing Manager of Mansfield Shipping Pte. Ltd., general agent for the Blue Funnel Line, said that this is the largest consignment of welding equipment and component ever imported from Australia. According to Mr. Edward Yeo, Trade Manager (Australian Trade) for Mansfield Shipping Pte. Ltd., subsequent consignments from Lincoln Australia will be handled by the Australia Straits Container Line (A.S.C.L.) which will come into service shortly. A.S.C.L. is part of the Anro Consortium which operates three hybrid roll-on, roll-off and lift-on, life-off containerships on the South East Asia/Australia trade route.
