CSSC QBS delivers first 319,000 DWT ammonia-ready VLCC

This marks the company’s entry into the large tanker newbuilding market.

China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd. and CSSC Qingdao Beihai Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (CSSC QBS) have delivered a 319,000 deadweight ton, ammonia-ready very large crude carrier ordered by Belgium-based CMB.TECH.

In a statement, the Chinese shipbuilder said ATREBATES, which is the first of the two ordered by CMB.TECH, was delivered seven months ahead of the original contractual schedule. Its sister vessel, EBURONES, is scheduled for early delivery in the coming months.

These state-of-the-art VLCCs mark CSSC QBS’s strategic entry into the large tanker newbuilding segment and demonstrate the company’s capability to build high-added-value, green vessels efficiently.
