Marco Polo Marine, Siemens Gamesa ink deal for offshore wind vessels

Projects in Taiwan, Japan, and South Korea will utilise the upcoming fleet.

Marco Polo Marine Ltd’s offshore wind division, PKR Offshore Co., Ltd. (PKRO), has signed a framework agreement with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy for two commissioning service operation vessels (CSOVs).

Under the deal, PKRO will provide two upcoming CSOVs for Siemens Gamesa’s offshore wind projects in Taiwan on a non-exclusive basis.

In addition, both parties will deploy PKRO’s fleet for Siemens’ projects in South Korea and Japan.

The vessels will be equipped with Siemens Energy’s BlueDrive PlusC hybrid propulsion system.

The agreement will run for an initial two years from 2029, with an option to begin in 2028 and extend for one to three years.

Marco Polo’s wind division has owned and operated the CSOV MP Wind Archer since its first charter in Taiwan in April 2025.

Its second unit is currently under construction at Marco Polo Marine’s shipyard in Batam, Indonesia, with delivery scheduled for the second quarter of 2028.

The third unit is in its planning phase.
