57-metre Dampier bridge to link cargo wharf with bulk facility in Western Australia
Works include demolition, piling, and reinforced concrete deck construction.
Pilbara Ports has awarded the stage two contract for the Dampier Link Bridge to NRW Pty Ltd and Brady Marine and Civil Pty Ltd (NBJV), marking a major step forward for the Dampier Cargo Wharf Projects in Western Australia’s mid-north.
NBJV will design and build a 57-metre link bridge connecting the existing Dampier Cargo Wharf with the Dampier Bulk Handling Facility.
The works include demolishing the Southern Mooring Dolphin, piling, and constructing a reinforced concrete deck.
The bridge will improve shipping operations by directly linking the new bulk handling facility with the existing wharf.
Construction of the Dampier Bulk Handling Facility is progressing, with demolition, dredging, drilling and blasting complete and wharf works under way.
The facility is scheduled for completion in the first half of the year, whilst the link bridge is expected to be operational by late 2026.
The Dampier Cargo Wharf Projects will expand marine infrastructure and operational capacity at the Port of Dampier.
The government has committed $565m to common-user port upgrades in the Pilbara, including $115m for the Port of Dampier.
