Dasic, an internationally established name in the manufacture of chemicals in chemicals, fuel additives, paint strippers, etc. is now becoming an indispensable Kampas, their marine and offshore chemical products are most popular here.
Among Dasic's best-sellers in this region is their fuel oil treatment, Kleenfuel A.S. It is a true solution of a very effective metal oxide, containing no free lead or suspended solids, and formulated as a complete fuel oil treatment suitable for use with all grades for both diesel engines and boilers. In eliminating bunker tank sludge, controlling carbon and soot formation and the reduction of smoke and smut emission, Kleenfuel A.S. offers reduced maintenance and fuel costs together with much improved plant conditions with increased availability All fuel oils contain unavoidable impurities, sulphur being the major one and agent of corrosion.
Kleenfuel A.S. controls SO3 production by inhibiting the oxidisation of SO2, thus reducing very effectively the Acide Dew Point and avoiding corrosion problems in the 'low temperature' areas of boiler plants. It controls the deposition of compounds of Vanadium and Sodium which form hard, bonded deposits combustion spaces and other high temperature areas. It emulsifies and absorbs the water content of fuel oil, improves both combustion and thermal efficiency and because of the highly concentrated nature of the treatment and the very small ratios used, the costeffectiveness of Kleenfuel A.S. is very high.

For quick and thorough cleaning of all machinery, bilges and engine room floor plates, etc. Dasic have a ready to use emulsifying solvent and cold greaser called Dasikleen. More economical than handscrubbing operations, Dasikleen is a solvent based on a biodegradable surfactant system which when used cold will thoroughly break up heavy oil and grease and hold in suspension their deposits. It is also very effective for quick and efficient removal of heavy residual oils and crude oils from storage tanks, pumping stations and associated pipework.

Still within the engine room, a mild acidic liquid cleaner to remove light rust and streaking from paintwork and non-ferrous metals is a very handy asset. Scalex has been developed for this and is eminently suitable for application on bare lightly rusted surfaces. Scalex will dry and eventually form a rust sealing primer and give protection to the exposed area till it is painted.
However where normal water emulsifiable cleaners are not usable, such as in the cleaning of electrical apparatus, a highly volatile, non-flammable, safe, and non-toxic solvent would be the answer. This is Electrokleen, a non-conductive and invaluable agent for cleaning electric motors, electrical switchgear and equipment. It can be safely be applied to

'live' operating equipment though it is recommended that loose dirt particles be first removed by compressed air and that a check to ensure freedom from brush arcing is carried out.
Evaporators, condensers and salt water pipe lines are constantly subjected to salt water scale.
Basic's dry acid powder Descaler upon being diluted with fresh water, becomes a very active descaling solution containing all the advantages of sulphuric acid without the associated dangers to personnel and materials. The formulation incorporates inhibitors, wetting agents and indicators which enable the operator to apply the solution to all surfaces including aluminium and galvanized equipment with complete safety. There is no copper deposition and no dangerous fumes are emitted. The wetting agent present assists in speeding up the descaling operation and the indicator allows visible evidence of the mixture strength at any time during the operation.

Slickgone LTC
— An oil dispersant concentrate, completely biodegradable, of low toxicity, and complying with all Department of Industry specifications, for use at sea, on coastal waters and beaches. Used in the ratio of 1 part dispersant to 9 parts sea water, Slickgone LTC offers considerable advantages over conventional hydrocarbon dispersants, saving valuable storage space aboard spraying vessels, enabling them to remain at sea for longer periods by effectively treating up to 10 times as much oil as previously possible without replenishing.

Deeptank Q.B.
— for accelerated cleaning of cargo tanks of seagoing tankers. It also assist in the separation of oil from the water in the slop tanks.

Vegan
— A mildly alkaline liquid developed for specialised vegetable, animal, fish and mineral oil cargo tank cleaning operations. It is particularly suitable for removing all traces of hydrocarbon deposits in chemical tankers.

Conkleen A
powerful acid liquid for rapid removal of rust. from ferrous metals. It readily dissolves water scales and hardened cement deposits without attacking painted areas. Indispensable for oil supply vessels.

E24
— A water repellent, release agent, corrosion inhibitor and light duty lubricant supplied in bulk or in aerosols, it is ideal for the protection of winch motors, lifeboat engines, echo sounding equipment, radar gear and engine spares — in fact almost anything liable to damage by a salt humid atmosphere. Suitable only for brush and hand spray application, it gives a heavy and long-lasting protective covering.
