Design Power (Far East) Sets Up Office in Singapore to Supply US Originated Machinery and Parts
Design Power (Far East) Pte Ltd (DPFE) is a fully incorporated company under the laws of Singapore and has been established to provide services and support to companies in Asia who operate US originated machinery and plant and for the sale of marine propulsion systems and generating sets.
DPFE is competently supported by its parent company, Design Power International (DPI), which is a fully incorporated company based in Houston, Texas, USA.
DPI was set up in 1985 by Mr Thomas G Daenen with the intention of supplying rebuilt EMD engines and components into the local US markets. This included supplying EMD engines to Leevac Shipyards Inc as main engines for 60m towing supply vessels built in 1990.
Leevac Shipyards have recently confirmed orders for more EMD engines for the current new building programme. DPI will oversee the installation and commissioning of these engines.
As business has prospered in the US, Tom has expanded DPI and now operates from a 3,000m 2 facility with 0 ton overhead crane lift capacity. Included in these new facilities are additional quality control instruments, fixtures and additional EMD factory trained personnel.
A dedicated buying division was set up to cater for overseas enquiries and has expanded to supply all types and brands of machinery and spare parts at extremely competitive prices. DPI can act as buying agents for companies that have regular requirements for US produced goods thus relieving them of the problems and extra financial cost involved in overseas sourcing and purchasing.

MK Engine Systems offers the remarkable new 710 clutch design that positions the clutch outboard of the turbo. This technology allows for greater reliability, easier maintenance and greater cost efficiency. The clutch can be replaced simply with no need to replace the whole turbo.
MK Engine systems offer a full one year warranty against workmanship and material defects on all turbochargers supplied.
TOUCHSTONE INC.
Manufacturers of high quality heat exchangers for use on EMD engines and other applications. These include oil, water, gas, charge air radiators and heat exchangers.
Touchstone Inc. have developed high strength, lead-free soldered heat exchangers which have a corrosion rate of 1 /7 of the corrosion rate of traditional 70/30 lead solder.

INDUSTRIAL PARTS DEPOT (IPD)
IPD are one of the longest established companies supplying after market spare parts for diesel engines. IPD manufactures a wide range of parts for Detroit Diesel (GM), Caterpillar, Cummins and Navstar.
Of particular interest is the range of hardened cylinder liners produced by IPD which allows operators to increase the interval between engine overhauls. This is especially useful in high wear rate applications or areas using fuels with a high sulphur content. In all applications, IPD parts meet or exceed OEM specifications.
Design Power International offers a one year warranty on all components supplied, including remanufactured EMD power packs. All rebuilt/ remanufactured components comply with OEM specifications and tolerances and strict quality control is implemented.
A two-year warranty is provided on new Power Packs.
DPFE offers a service exchange programme for all EMD components including: Power Packs (full and Partial), Cylinder Heads, Re-Chromed Fuel Injectors etc, and is committed to providing customers with cost effective service and quality parts.
Field service personnel are available on a twenty four hour basis whether domestic US or international to provide technical support for trouble shooting, engine overhauls/repair or technical advice for product selection.
