K Line forecasts above ¥100b quarterly net income in Q1, Q2
It also expected an ordinary income of ¥120b in Q1 and ¥100b in Q2.
Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha Ltd. (K Line) forecasted its net income for the first (Q1) and second quarters (Q2) of the year will stand at ¥115b ($955m) and ¥105b ($872m), respectively.
It expected its ordinary income for the periods to reach ¥120b ($996m) in Q1 and ¥100b ($830m) in Q2.
In terms of segments, K Line forecasted that its own business will generate ¥78.5b ($652m) or 72% of its total income for Q2.
Its containership segment will generate ¥21.5b ($178m), or 17.5% lower than its previous forecast due to softening supply-demand balance and slump in short-term freight rates, K Line said.
K Line added that it will monitor situations such as US tariff policies and Middle East tensions and take appropriate business measures moving forward
