PIL’s Kota Orkid makes Singapore debut

Following its Singapore stop, the vessel will continue its journey along the South West Africa Service.

Pacific International Lines (PTE) Ltd has announced that its 8,200 TEU LNG dual-fuel vessel Kota Orkid made its maiden call in Singapore.

“Our latest O Class vessel Kota Orkid made its maiden appearance in Singapore today! The 8,200 TEU LNG dual-fuel vessel is currently plying along our South West Africa Service (SWS) route as part of its inaugural journey,” the company said.

After Singapore, Kota Orkid will be making its way to Ghana, Togo, Nigeria, and Côte d'Ivoire, before heading back to Asia.

When it comes to its features, the LNG dual-fuel vessel is also capable of using greener bio-methane fuels. Its various energy-saving features help PIL reduce its carbon footprint.

“Kota Orkid is a testament to our fleet expansion and renewal strategy. We are showing the world how PIL is progressing steadily towards greener shipping with a more sustainable and technologically advanced fleet,” the company said.
