Portable CO2 Monitor Measures Full Range
Claimed by its British manufacturing company to be the only portable carbon-dioxide monitor currently available to measure the full range from zero to 100%, the Portamonitor C 02 is designed to provide early warning of ambient C 02 levels.
Using the latest relay technology, Lidbury has produced a unit which features rapid response to environmental changes.
For clear warning of C 02 levels, Portamonitor incorporates a red LED light and audible warning system. Level indications are given by an analogue-meter readout, while leak-site detection is facilitated by an internal pump protected by a disposable filter. With an accuracy of within plus or minus 5% of reading, the unit can also be fitted with a flexible probe fixed by a simple push-fit connector. Operation of Portamonitor is controlled by just one switch which covers ON/OFF operation and battery-testing facilities. Power is provided by a conventional rechargeable Ni-Cad battery with a life of 12 hours' continuous use. A110W240V recharger is supplied as standard. Portamonitor measures only 150mm x 70mm and weighs just 1.75kg.
Two other units in the same range are available from the company; Permamonitor C 02 and Portamonitor (Halon).
Permamonitor is a fixed mains-powered continuous C 02-level- monitoring system. Operated either by a diffusion or an aspiration pump, the unit can draw a sample through a 3mm-diameter tube at a distance of up to about 60m. Employing advanced infrared technology, the unit has two levels of alarm, each with two sets of volt-free contacts. Control is by simple pushbuttons for reset and power.
Portamonitor (Halon) is a small, handheld Halon leak detector. It has a flexible tube and is based on an ionising DC negative-corona principle controlled by the most up-to-date microprocessor technology. The unit will trace leaks as low as 10 parts in 106 and will also detect FM 200, CFCs, HCFCs and HFCs.
