
Samudera Shipping container volume up 12.63% in H1
Average revenue also increased in the first six months.
Samudera Shipping Line Ltd. has reported a 12.63% increase in the volume of its container shipments in the first half (H1) of the year.
In a bourse filing, the company said the volume reached 990,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU) in H1 from 879,000 TEU in the same period last year.
The average revenue per TEU also increased to 8.7% to S$320.51 (US$250).
Samudera noted that the “market environment remains volatile.”
Employment days for H1 reached 1,293 days, increasing from 1,190 the previous year, with two vessels joining the fleet in mid of H1 2024.
“All vessels are employed under time charter contracts,” the company said. “Operating margin has been impacted due to technical challenges on certain vessels.”
