Toyota Forklifts Serves PSA's New Gate
United Motor Works latest coup is a single tender award for the supply of 102 units 3 ton diesel driven forklift trucks and ten units 214 ton battery forklifts to PSA. These forklifts are now operating at PSA’s new gateway at Pasir Panjang, Singapore.
Quite apart from this deal Toyota forklift trucks are currently the largest selling range of material handling equipment in Singapore and Malaysia.
Their range of forklifts available covers 1000 kg to 25000 kg diesel driven forklift trucks, petrol and L.P. gas trucks from 700 kg to 6000 kg and battery powered from 500 kg to 4000 kg. The main models are available almost immediately.
Forklift trucks have made material handling fast, efficient and indeed safe. With international trade growing and material handling becoming more than just efficient and neat stacking, forklifts have undergone many innovations in adaptability.
The Toyota forklifts come with many attachments suitable for various diversified industries. For very high lifts a 3-stage mast can be fitted to reach a height of 6500 mm (256”). To load and unload in low holds of ships and containers a 2- stage full free lift mast can be attached together with a side-shifter. Their forklifts can also be attached with clamps for work with bales of cotton or pulp, drums and a full 360 rotating clamp for paper rolls. Further versatility of these workhorses is obtained by attaching a ram for coiled goods, a crane arm for lifting objects with slings, hinged forks which can be coupled with bucket, load stabilizers for high stack and fragile cargo. Toyota forklifts come with UMW after sales service guarantee. UMW maintain a large fleet of mobile inspection and service vehicles manned by highly skilled trouble-shooter mechanics. This unit minimises lay down time and regularly inspects Toyota forklifts at worksites to diagnose potential problems free of charge, advise on necessary replacement parts and service the trucks if required. They are on call as well. One UMW spokesman added, “Our motto is — service with expertise.” A mouthful? No, a verifiable fact.
