Tsuneishi Shipbuilding launches 5,900 TEU methanol dual-fuelled container carrier

This is the largest of its kind that the company has built.

Tsuneishi Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. has announced the launch of the 5,900 twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU) methanol dual-fuelled container carrier.

In a statement, the company said that Tsuneishi Group (Zhoushan) Shipbuilding Inc., its manufacturing base in China, successfully launched the vessel, which will be delivered in February 2026.

This is the largest of its kind ever built by the group, capable of accommodating up to 5,915 TEU containers both in the hold and on deck. In response to the growing demand for refrigerated transport in recent years, the vessel can also carry up to 1,400 reefer containers.

The vessel is also equipped with systems compatible with a large-capacity shore power supply, enabling the generators to be shut down whilst in port.
