Yangzijiang Shipbuilding H1 net profit jumps 28% to $1b
Gross margin widened to 36.2% as revenue grew 36.2% to $3.33b (RMB17.53b).
Yangzijiang Shipbuilding (Holdings) Ltd.’s net profit rose 28.4% to $1.02b (RMB5.37b) in the first half (H1) of 2026, from $794.2m (RMB4.18b) a year earlier.
Its gross profit climbed 42.8% to $1.21b (RMB6.35b) from $845.5m (RMB4.45b), according to a bourse filing. Gross margin widened to 36.2% from 34.5%.
Revenue increased 36.2% to $3.33b (RMB17.53b) from $2.45b (RMB12.88b), with shipbuilding contributing about 94% of the total.
Shipbuilding revenue rose 34.8% to $3.14b (RMB16.5b) from $2.32b (RMB12.2b), with the new Hongyuan Yard contributing $103.6m (RMB545m) in the second quarter.
The group delivered 27 vessels in H1, including 10 from its joint venture Yangzi-Mitsui Shipbuilding.
It also secured $2.25b (US$1.75b) in new orders for 38 vessels during the period, comprising 25 containerships, 10 oil tankers, two gas carriers, and one bulk carrier.
Total new orders secured in the first seven months of 2026 reached about $2.51b (US$1.96b), with Yangzijiang targeting $5.76b (US$4.5b) in new orders for the full year.
