Yantian East Port completes construction of berths 1 and 2

All marine works will be completed by the end of 2025.

Yantian East Port phase 1 has completed the main construction of its berths 1 and 2.

In a statement, Hutchison Ports YANTIAN said large-scale automated loading and unloading equipment has been delivered and is undergoing commissioning.

The company expects to complete marine works for all three berths by the end of 2025.

The Yantian East Port is a key infrastructure under China's 14th Five-Year Plan and within the Greater Bay Area. It will feature three fully automated 200,000-ton container berths, with a 1,470-metre quay length and a depth alongside of -18 metres.

It is designed to accommodate 32,000-twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU) container vessels. It will have an annual design throughput of 3 million TEUs, ensuring berthing capabilities for future generations of mega- vessels.
