Rolls-Royce Opens New MTU Asia Headquarters in Singapore

Rolls-Royce today marked the official opening of its new MTU Asia Headquarters in a ceremony attended by Singapore's Minister for Manpower, Mr. Lim Swee Say. The new 26,500 square-meter facility consolidates all business functions into one location at the Tukang Innovation Park. This new setup enables MTU to better support its customers as power demands in the marine, oil and gas, rail, and energy industries increase across Asia.

MTU is one of the world's leading manufacturers of large diesel engines and complete propulsion systems. The MTU brand is part of Rolls-Royce's Power Systems business within the company's Land & Sea division. MTU's 280-strong team in Singapore has over 40 years of experience in serving more than 30 countries in the region.

Mr. Lim Swee Say, Minister for Manpower, said, "This is win-win for MTU as a global business leader and Singapore as a leading business hub. As the company continues to compete and grow better in the Asia Pacific and beyond, this facility will help create better jobs, better skills, and better careers for our people here in Singapore."

Mr. Lawrie Haynes, Rolls-Royce President of Land & Sea, stated, "MTU has been in Singapore for over 40 years, and this new facility continues the story of Rolls-Royce's overall strategy of getting closer to our growing customer base in the region."

The new facility consolidates several key functions, including application engineering, sales and service support, distribution management, marketing, and communications. It also features a training center, where MTU-qualified trainers offer customers and employees from throughout the region the opportunity to develop their maintenance and operational skills.

In addition, the facility houses the Failure Analysis Centre and the Regional Reman Centre. The Failure Analysis Centre provides the highest level of failure analysis capability, allowing MTU to conduct failure analysis independently in Singapore for the region. The Regional Reman Centre addresses the growing demand for remanufactured MTU engines and critical engine components.
