Becker Marine Systems Establishing itself as a Competent Partner on the Chinese Market With Offices in Shanghai, Nanjing and Zhenjiang
In China, Becker Marine Systems has been a highly regarded and dependable partner in the maritime industry for many years. In the areas of manufacturing, sales, and aftersales service, The Hamburg-based company is represented at three different locations.
The ship supplier will be presenting its innovative products at Marintec China 2015, taking place from 1st to 4th December. Since 2003 Becker Marine Systems maintained an office in Shanghai where 12 employees handle sales and support for Becker products. The office in Nanjing was opened 12 years ago at virtually the same time. Here, the market leader for high-performance rudders and energysaving manoeuvring technology employs a staff of four working in manoeuvring technology and there is a manufacturing agreement with Luzhou, a CSSC group company.
There have also been in-house manufacturing operations in Zhenjiang for the past two years. The subsidiary employs a staff of nearly 80 handling design and quality management in addition to manufacturing. "The trend towards an increased local presence in China is something we recognised early on and we are now reaping the fruits of our many years there. China has long since lost its status as an export only market and should be treated as an equal partner", said Henning Kuhlmann. The Managing Director of Becker Marine Systems has himself lived in Asia for seven years and has over 25 years of experience with Chinese business culture.
In both the north and south of China, there is good and close cooperation between Becker Marine Systems and the shipyard companies. These include Dalian Shipyard and Industrial Cooperation (DSIC), Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding and Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding.
Becker products are primarily needed for large container ships as well as for tankers and bulk carriers. "In the coming years we would like to expand our market share in China and will be relying on detailed market knowledge and our dependable China-based after-sales services such as installation supervision. With us, customer service doesn't end when the contract is signed.",said Kuhlmann. For this reason, Becker Marine Systems will again be expanding inhouse production and is also planning to increase staff by approximately 20 percent.
From 1st to 4th December 2015, the ship supplier will be presenting its high-performance rudders and energy-saving devices Becker Mewis DuctⓇ und Becker Mewis Duct TwistedⓇ at Marintec China. At this major shipbuilding conference and exhibition in Asia, German and Chinese staff will be presenting Becker Marine Systems at booth number N2F31-02, Hall N2 in the,,Shanghai New Inter- National Expo Center". Two years ago Marintec attracted approx. 58,000 visitors with 1,7000 exhibitors from over 30 countries.
