PIL’s Kota Pelangi makes maiden call in Chile
This is the company’s largest vessel to berth in the country.
Pacific International Lines (PTE) Ltd (PIL) has announced that its Kota Pelangi made its maiden call to San Antonio, Chile on 24 July.
According to the company, the 11,800 twenty-foot equivalent unit vessel is the first “P”-Class vessel that PIL deployed to Chile, and also its largest vessel to berth in the country.
“Kota Pelangi was plying along our West Coast South America Service 6 (WS6) route, which has been enhanced in April this year to call at San Antonio Terminal Internacional S.A.,” the company said.
Following the maiden call, Kota Pelangi is already sailing back to Asia.
“The enhancement of our WS6 route, together with the deployment of a larger vessel, reaffirms our commitment and confidence in the Chilean and Latin American market,” PIL said. “We will continue to strengthen our connectivity and service offerings in the region.”
