HMM allocates $2.84b for fleet expansion
The order includes twelve 13,000 TEU LNG dual-fuel containerships.
South Korean shipping company HMM has placed a $2.84b (KRW 4t) order for new vessels.
According to the company, its fleet expansion includes twelve 13,000 TEU LNG dual-fuel containerships and two Very Large Crude Carriers.
“By adding these LNG dual-fuelled ships to its portfolio, which already includes methanol and LNG-powered vessels, HMM is further enhancing the efficiency and diversity of its fleet,” the company said.
This investment aligns with HMM’s 2030 mid-to long-term strategy, aiming to secure a more flexible and future-ready fleet amid changing market and regulatory landscapes.
