Newbuild ships will bolster added trade routes

HMM has announced an update to its East-West service network that will be launched in April 2026.

The network encompasses the principal trade routes between Asia-Europe, Asia-North America, and Asia-Middle East.

“This updated network aims to deliver improved service reliability by means of an optimized global structure. The refined network is designed to strengthen overall operational stability whilst preserving the company’s broad international reach.“, according to a company statement.

HMM’s lines are set to be buoyed by newbuilds that are expected to be delivered throughout 2025 and into 2026.

The port rotations for the 2026 services will continue to follow the established route around the Cape of Good Hope.

HMM also said that it is maintaining vigilant oversight of the evolving situation in the Red Sea, Bab al-Mandab Strait, and Suez Canal.
