Seatrium wins eighth Karpowership FSRU conversion contract
The project starts in the third quarter of 2026.
Seatrium Limited has won an eighth floating storage regasification unit conversion contract from Karpowership, with work due to start in the third quarter of 2026.
The group said the LNG carrier-to-FSRU conversion is for LNGT Karadeniz, which it described as Karpowership’s first high-capacity FSRU with regasification capacity of up to 600 million standard cubic feet per day.
It said the scope includes installing a regasification module and spread-mooring system, plus integrating cargo handling, LNG offloading, utilities, electrical distribution, and automation and control systems.
The award progresses an earlier letter of intent signed in August 2025 covering three LNG carrier conversions into FSRUs, as well as integration of four new-generation Powerships with an option for two additional units, Seatrium said.
The firm also said it has completed and delivered the FSRU LNGT Powership Oceania to Karpowership, and its track record now stands at 23 FSRU and FSU conversion projects delivered.
