DP World secures Laem Chabang berth operating extension to 2031
The Port Authority of Thailand granted a five-year extension for continued terminal operations.
DP World has secured a five-year extension to operate the B5 container berth at Laem Chabang Port, extending its concession through April 2031 under its joint venture Laem Chabang International Terminal Co., Ltd. (LCIT).
DP World said in a press release that the Port Authority of Thailand granted the extension.
LCIT operates the B5 and C3 berths at Laem Chabang Port. The facility can handle up to four vessels simultaneously across 900 metres of berth length and includes 4,420 square metres of on-dock container freight station facilities.
The terminal handled 1.936 million twenty-foot equivalent units in 2025, its highest annual throughput.
LCIT deployed five electric internal transfer vehicles in 2025, replacing diesel units and reducing emissions by around 60%.
The operator plans to add electric reach stackers and an electric empty container handler in 2026.
DP World operates cross-border trucking, landside logistics, and freight forwarding services in Thailand.
It also operates a rail-linked inland container yard in Khon Kaen with a thrice-weekly rail shuttle to Laem Chabang Port.
