Wah Kwong signs contract for two LR2 tankers with DSIC and CSTC
Two more ships are optional in the deal.
Wah Kwong Maritime Transport Limited has signed a shipbuilding contract with China Shipbuilding Trading Co., Ltd. (CSTC), under China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), and Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd. (DSIC), for two 114,000 dwt LR2 tankers, with options for two additional vessels.
The signing ceremony was attended by senior executives from all companies, including Wah Kwong Chairman Hing Chao and Managing Director Capt. Zhou Jianfeng, alongside representatives from DSIC and CSTC.
The vessels will be built with IMO Tier III-compliant, EEDI Phase 3 energy-efficient designs and will include LNG-ready, methanol-ready, and CCUS-ready features.
The signing ceremony was attended by senior executives from all parties. Representing Wah Kwong were Chairman Mr. Hing Chao, Managing Director Capt. Zhou Jianfeng, Commercial Director Capt. Chen Changzheng, and Chief Financial Officer Ms. Cecile Lee. DSIC was represented by Chairman Mr. Han Dongwang and Deputy General Manager Mr. He Xu, while CSTC was represented by General Manager Mr. Han Jianbing, alongside other senior delegates.
