HD Hyundai wins order for two dual-fuel gas carriers from Turkey’s BGN
Each carrier will have a cargo capacity of 93,000 cubic metres.
HD Hyundai Heavy Industries (HD HHI) has signed a new contract with Turkey-based trading company, BGN, to construct two dual-fuel Very Large Gas Carriers (VLGCs) on 5 June.
The vessels, each with a cargo capacity of 93,000 cubic metres, will be built at HD HHI’s shipyard in Korea and are scheduled for delivery by 2029.
Designed to operate on both conventional and lower-emissions fuels, the new vessels are also capable of carrying ammonia.
The agreement follows BGN’s recent order for four additional dual-fuel VLGCs and increases the company’s fleet to 19 vessels.
