Seatrium wins 9th LNG FSRU conversion from Karpowership
LNGT Akdeniz work will start in Q1 2027.
Seatrium Limited has secured its ninth Floating Storage Regasification Unit (FSRU) conversion project from Türkiye-based Karpowership, LNGT Akdeniz, with work scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2027.
The award builds on the two companies’ partnership on FSRU conversion projects since 2018. The vessel will form part of Kinetics’ liquefied natural gas (LNG) fleet, Karpowership’s energy transition initiative.
Seatrium has already delivered seven FSRUs, with the ongoing conversion of LNGT Karadeniz marking the eighth FSRU project.
LNGT Akdeniz will have a regasification capacity of up to 600 million standard cubic feet per day, according to Alvin Gan, Executive Vice President, Repairs and Upgrades at Seatrium.
Seatrium’s scope includes the engineering, conversion, integration, installation, and commissioning of regasification equipment and associated systems.
LNGT Akdeniz is the second project to materialise under the letter of intent between the two companies, following LNGT Karadeniz.
Upon completion, the FSRU vessel will enhance LNG import and regasification capabilities in its target market, supporting energy security and reliable energy supply.
