PIL launches first SG60 container ship

Its naming ceremony was held in June.

Singapore-based Pacific International Lines (PIL) has unveiled the first SG60 container ship to mark the city-state’s 60th year of independence.

In a statement, PIL said Kota Ocean is the first container ship to bear the SG60 logo on the hull of its newly built 8,200 TEU LNG dual-fuel vessel.

Kota Ocean’s naming ceremony was held in Singapore in June 2025.

PIL is also sponsoring 100 specially-designed containers for the 2025 celebration for a decade of container sponsorship. These will be deployed in National Day Parade sites, including the Padang, Esplanade, and Empress Lawn, to support essential logistics.
