RINA Singapore hub expansion strengthens maritime innovation pipeline
The company will also add 13 specialist roles within the next three years.
RINA has expanded its Singapore Open Innovation Hub with support from the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) to accelerate innovation across the maritime and energy sectors.
It will also expand its Singapore-based research and innovation team, creating 13 specialist roles over the next three years to support the programme.
The company said in a press release the hub translates applied research into industry solutions through collaboration between industry, academia, and technology partners, and supports the development and deployment of technologies across maritime and energy value chains.
It will focus on integrating digital twin technologies linking vessels, ports, and hinterland systems to optimise performance and reduce emissions.
The initiative will also develop decarbonisation solutions, including alternative fuels and new operational models, as well as artificial intelligence-enabled learning platforms to support workforce skills and technology adoption.
Imran Ibrahim, Director of the Open Innovation Hub Singapore at RINA, said the hub aims to translate innovation into operational value through collaboration with industry, regulators, and research institutions.
Soo Haw Yun, Vice President, Global Enterprise Division at EDB, said the facility strengthens Singapore’s role as a maritime hub and supports technology development with industry partners.
