Singapore and Brunei ink pact to expand maritime cooperation
Both organisations will collaborate on digitalisation, inspection, and training.
The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore and the Maritime and Port Authority of Brunei Darussalam (MPABD) have formalised a partnership to enhance maritime and port cooperation between the two countries.
Through a memorandum of understanding (MOU), both organisations said that they aim to strengthen collaboration and exchanges in digitalisation, maritime safety, port state control inspection, and incident investigation.
The partnership also covers training and other areas of mutual interest.
“We look forward to creating more opportunities for our officers to exchange knowledge, share experiences and work together in practical areas of maritime and port cooperation,” said Zil Husam bin Haji Abdul Rahman, chief executive of MPABD.
The MOU was signed at the 12th Singapore-Brunei Young Leaders’ Programme.
