Tsuneishi delivers first methanol dual-fuel bulker to Guinea port

The vessel has an overall length of less than 229 metres.

Tsuneishi Shipbuilding’s Philippine unit, Tsuneishi Heavy Industries (Cebu), Inc., has delivered a methanol dual-fuelled Kamsarmax bulk carrier, according to a press release.

The vessel belongs to the Kamsarmax class, a large Panamax bulk carrier designed to meet size restrictions for entry into Kamsar Port in Guinea.

The ship is capable of transporting major bulk commodities, including iron ore, grains, coal, and hot coils, offering trading flexibility across routes and cargo types.

The use of methanol fuel enables emissions reductions of up to 80% for nitrogen oxides and 99% for sulfur oxides, whilst carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions can be reduced by about 10% compared to conventional fuel oil.

The vessel has an overall length of less than 229 metres, a breadth of 32.26 metres, and a depth of 20.15 metres. It has a deadweight of approximately 81,100 metric tonnes and a gross tonnage of about 45,500.
