Reurasia brings ADERCO fuel tech to Philippine shipping
The trial reports 3% to 5% fuel savings across vessel applications.
Reurasia Management Corporation has introduced ADERCO fuel preservation technology to the Philippine shipping market.
This follows its presentation at the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) PhilMarine 2026 technical forum held at the SMX Convention Center Manila.
The Philippines-based company said the technology is aimed at helping ship operators “reduce fuel consumption, cut carbon dioxide emissions and improve Carbon Intensity Indicator (CII) performance” without changing fuel suppliers or making major vessel investments.
ADERCO is presented as a fuel preservation and conditioning treatment applied to existing marine fuels, including diesel, heavy fuel oil, and biofuels.
It is described as a vegetal organic product derived from tall oil and used at a dosage of one litre per 55 metric tonnes of fuel.
Reurasia said the solution is “not to replace the fuel, but to preserve and condition it,” adding that it is intended to reduce waste linked to fuel instability, sludge formation, and incomplete combustion.
The company added that it operates alongside existing bunkering arrangements with suppliers including Shell and Petron.
ADERCO claims verified fuel savings of 3% to 5% across vessel applications.
Presentation data included a refrigerated vessel project with average fuel savings of 4.84%, alongside reported reductions across bulk carriers, container ships, and liquefied petroleum gas carriers ranging from 2.19% to 4.13%.
The company said the technology supports compliance with International Maritime Organization CII rules, which assess carbon emissions per cargo-carrying capacity and distance travelled for ships above 5,000 gross tonnage.
It added that efficiency gains of around 3% can influence CII outcomes.
Reurasia said industry adoption will depend on vessel trials, engine and classification requirements, fuel management practices, and long-term verification of savings.
