Australia commits $4.8m to revamp WA boating hubs
The project aims to make launching easier and safer for users.
The Western Australia government has awarded a $4.8m contract to Jetty and Marine Constructions for the upgrades at Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour and the Woodman Point Recreational Boating Precinct.
The 38-year-old fixed section of Jetty 1 at Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour, which houses up to 16 vessels, will be replaced with a modern floating jetty and pen system.
At Woodman Point, old ramps will be rebuilt with new floating holding jetties, aiming to make launching easier and safer for users.
The Department of Transport and Major Infrastructure (DTMI) will work with the contractor to ensure completion by 2027.
