K LINE delivers 174,000-cubic-metre LNG carrier to Petronas LNG

Another sister ship is due in November 2026 as PLL builds out its fleet.

Japan-based Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (K LINE) has delivered a liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier for Malaysia-based Petronas LNG Ltd. (PLL) at Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding’s shipyard in China on 24 September.

The LNG carrier, Puteri Kelantan, is owned by a joint venture led by K LINE and follows two vessels of the same type delivered to PLL in May and June.

The vessel has a tank capacity of about 174,000 cubic metres, an overall length of about 299 metres and a beam of 46.4 metres.

It is powered by an X-DF dual-fuel low-speed diesel engine and has a service speed of 19.5 knots.

A naming ceremony was held on 2 September for Puteri Kelantan and its sister vessel, Puteri Negeri Sembilan, which is scheduled for delivery in November.
