UK's BMT acquires Australia's One2three Naval Architects

Acquisition strengthens ferry and specialist craft expertise.

BMT has acquired Australian naval architecture firm One2three Naval Architects to strengthen its global commercial and specialist vessel design business.

The acquisition expands BMT's capabilities in ferry design, specialist craft, autonomous vessels and advanced maritime technologies, whilst increasing its capacity to support complex vessel programmes across international markets.

Founded in 2005, Sydney-based One2three has delivered more than 300 vessels in over 30 countries. The company specialises in high-performance ferries and efficient hull form design, with experience in commercial ferries, para-military craft, luxury yachts and battery-powered vessels.

BMT said existing customer relationships, project teams and active programmes will continue without disruption following the acquisition.

The deal also expands BMT's global ship design offering, giving customers access to broader engineering support, larger delivery teams and globally connected design resources.

The company said the acquisition supports its long-term strategy to meet growing demand for advanced, efficient and sustainable vessel solutions.

The combined business will provide shipyards, operators, and maritime customers with expanded technical expertise and greater international reach across key maritime markets.
