Imabari Shipbuilding completes 40,000-ton-type bulk carrier

The ship can carry various types of cargoes.

Imabari Shipbuilding has delivered the 40,000-ton bulk carrier Norse Ozukuma that was built in the group’s Shimanami Shipyard Co., Ltd.

In a statement, Imabari said the vessel is an ocean-going bulk carrier having a double hull hold construction of box shape with topside tanks. It has four deck cranes, and each cargo hold has a wide size hatch opening and folding type hatch cover.

Norse Ozukuma was designed to be suitable for loading various cargoes, such as bulk cargoes, grain, coal, ore, cement, steel coil, long size steel, etc.

This vessel has various equipment and device for satisfying the environmental rule and regulation such as MARPOL convention, ballast water management convention. It can also achieve high propulsion performance by applying the energy-saving devices, high efficiency propeller, low friction paint for outer hull plating.
