OMS Group orders two Ulstein cable-laying vessels
The vessels are designed for low environmental impact of subsea network builds.
OMS Group signed contracts with ULSTEIN for the design and construction of two cable-laying vessels, which are scheduled to come into service in 2028.
The vessels will feature engineering and operational efficiencies for low environmental impact of subsea network deployment, OMS Group said in a statement.
This is part of the firm’s fleet expansion strategy and commitment to meet global demand for high-capacity submarine cable systems, it added.
The two new vessels will join OMS Group’s GREAT-Class Fleet, bringing the company’s current total of new committed and under construction vessels to four.
