Aesen hybrid crew boat targets 40% fuel savings

Energy storage helps optimise engine loading across offshore missions.

Singapore-based Aesen has introduced the Aesen 116H, a next-generation hybrid crew boat designed for offshore personnel transportation and infield logistics, the company said in a statement on 11 September.

The vessel combines hybrid propulsion technology and energy storage systems, with an estimated 30% to 40% reduction in fuel consumption compared with conventionally powered crew boats operating under similar duty cycles.

Aesen 116H is designed to optimise engine loading and power utilisation during short transits, variable power demands and standby periods.

The vessel incorporates a multi-layered redundancy philosophy to improve operational continuity and reliability across a range of operational contingencies.

It also features Smart Window technology, which enhances situational awareness on the bridge by improving visibility of critical operating areas around the vessel.

The technology complements conventional navigation and monitoring systems to support decision-making in complex offshore operating conditions, Aesen said.
