Imabari Shipbuilding completes 40,000-ton Unity Island

The vessel can carry a wide variety of cargoes, such as coal.

Imabari Shipbuilding has completed the 40,000-ton bulk carrier Unity Island built in Imabari Shipyard.

“This vessel is an ocean-going bulk carrier having a double hull hold construction of box shape with topside tanks,” the company said.

Unity Island is designed for loading a wide variety of cargoes, such as bulk cargoes, grain, coal, ore, cement, steel coil, and long-size steel.

This vessel has four deck cranes, and each cargo hold has a wide size hatch opening and a folding type hatch cover.
