Imabari Shipbuilding completes 64,000-ton Norse Continuation

The vessel is designed to carry cargoes such as grain and coal.

Imabari Shipbuilding has delivered the 64,000-ton bulk carrier Norse Continuation built in the group’s Shin Kasado Dockyard Co., Ltd.

According to the company, the vessel is an ocean-going handy-max size bulk carrier applying the Common Structural Rules (CSR BC &OT). Each cargo hold has topside and hopper tanks, making it suitable for loading various types of cargo such as bulk cargoes, grain, coal, ore, cement, steel coil, long size steel, etc.

Norse Continuation also has wide cargo hatch openings with the folding-type hatch cover and four (4) sets of deck cranes.

“This vessel achieves high propulsion performance by applying the energy-saving devices, high-efficiency propeller, low low-friction paint for outer hull plating,” the company said.
