Remote Fuel Monitoring System

Since 1928, the name Aquametro AG has been synonymous with metering technology—through numerous generations of quality products and practical solutions we have provided. We are continually aware of the variety of specific requirements throughout the world—whether technological, economical, ecological or cultural—and this determines the way we act.
Our closeness to the market is based on our constant readiness to break new ground in our quest for optimum solutions. The experience and skills we have gained in this way are adopted in our daily work by both our employees in Switzerland and our subsidiaries and representatives throughout the world.
Marine Division
The marine division of our company offers not only flow measurement for marine diesel and heavy fuel oil. The further focus is on fuel (monitoring) management systems and fuel conditioning for fuel systems on board of vessels. Innovative system components, communication interfaces and analysis solutions pay off not only when it comes to saving fuel. Convinced users also appreciate the operating simplicity and the sustainable learning effect of efficient fuel management and conditioning.
Optimize Your Ship Performance
Fuel prices are rising continuously, and ecological awareness in the marine industry as well as in society as a whole is intensified. This combination leads to more efforts to make shipping more energy efficient—monitoring fuel consumption and emissions are an integral part of this.
We provide the perfect fuel monitoring solution for ocean-going ships, as well as offshore vessels and riverboats. The product portfolio ranges from basic data collection up to fuel performance analysis with historic data trending and reporting functionality.
CONTOILⓇ VZO/VZF
With the CONTOIL® VZO and VZF series we offer a modular system for direct and differential fuel consumption measurement for every engine. The basic module of the CONTOILⓇ series is tested and proven rotary piston meter, which can be extended with a mechanical or electronic totalisation unit. The electronic VZF can be used with our fuel monitoring systems for automated calculations. The extension "A" stands for increased accuracy of 0.5% instead of 1%. Calibrated in pairs (supply and return), an accuracy of 0.1-0.3% can be achieved.
Remote Fuel Monitoring System
Being a complete solution provider, Aquametro has a team of software and hardware engineers in Singapore with assistance of the software team in Swiss to develop a full suite of tools made available via web portal for our ship owners and their captains to monitor their fuel consumption and engine performance at their own comfort. The full monitoring system consists of 2 separate systems, namely RMS (Remote Monitor System) installed onboard vessels for data collection, while FMCC (Fleet Management Control Centre) is hosted by Aquametro for ship owners access and monitoring via internet browsers.
Remote Monitoring System (RMS)
This system will be installed and connected to flow meters (TYPE APPROVED) manufactured and provided by Aquametro. With optional monitoring engines performance in terms of engine rpm, load %, shaft rpm, etc. Through the web portal by RMS, captain is now able to do the following:
Log trip details that give the owners a clear indication on the route and total fuel consumption for a given trip.
Log operation mode, gives owner an up-to-date operation status of the vessel at any time.
Monitor bunkering amount (with bunker meters monitored), which reduce the human intervention and possible error.
Generate fuel consumption reports for daily submission to charters.
All events are transmitted back together with engine fuel consumption regularly or instantly back to the Aquametro data server (supports via different communication mode) for storage and presentation through FMCC.
Fleet Monitoring Control Centre (FMCC)
Each ship owners will be given a login detail to access FMCC web portal in order to monitor and measure the performance of their fleet of vessels. In this portal, owners are able to have an overview on vessels' latest reported position and also their fuel consumption trend for the last few days.
One of the great tools that FMCC provides is the Performance tools that allow user to setup their own charting elements, which can be used to measure the engine performance over time. Accordingly to the owners, RMS & FMCC has greatly reduce their overheads on preparing daily reports submitted to charters and also see a great reduction on the fuel consumption and improvement in engine performance, as they are now able to have up-to-date information at their fingertips.

Their Strengths
To show the commitment to this system, Aquametro has invested and setup their own software and hardware development teams, which enable them to response much faster to the ship owner's urgent needs. In additional, to further strengthen their existing customer relationship, technical persons are always on the road to meet their customers and gather new feedbacks. As shared, "We always like to visit our customers/users, as many a times; we are able to receive valuable ideas from the owners and people on the ground, which in return greatly enhance overall system user experience and effectiveness." — Mr Alex Chan, Aquametro (S.E.A.), Head of R&D.
Strong Track Records and Customer Supports
Accordingly to Aquametro, so far, there are more than 200 successfully installation globally, with many more on the pipelines. One point to note, Aquametro has been appointed as the Approved Solution Provider for the fuel monitoring system by SHELL, in additional, accordingly to Mr Jimmy Cheong, CEO of Aquametro (S.E.A.), they also very pleased to be selected by Petronas to install similar system (trial) on their vessels. This strongly shows the good track records of Aquametro in delivering such systems and supports they are providing. Lastly, as quoted "We are very proud and confident in our products that we have set up 24/7 hotline to services all our valuable clients." — Mr Jimmy Cheong.
