Servocore Amc Receives Lloyd's Register Type Approval

ServoCore, the commercial-off-the-shelf alarm, monitoring, and control solution (AMC) introduced by Servowatch Systems last year, has today received type approval from classification society Lloyd's Register. UK-based Servowatch, a business unit of the Electrical & Automation division of India’s Larsen & Toubro, adapted the technology inherent to its bespoke automation and integration solutions supplied to the naval sector to meet the commercial requirements of the merchant shipping industry.

Certification follows the successful type approval in July of ServoSentinel, Servowatch’s advanced embedded computer module for marine applications where more extensive system integration and platform management is required.

The successful type approval of the computer module was crucial to Servowatch receiving LR certification for the ServoCore solution. Wayne Ross, Chief Executive Officer, Servowatch Systems, said: "To have received LR type approval for both systems in the space of just four weeks is a remarkable achievement for Servowatch. Not only does it mark an important step forward in the development of systems automation and integration for the merchant ship sector, it also gives shipowners the confidence needed to benefit from high-end system integration without the high costs."

Ross added: "The development of ServoCore means that we can deliver the same functionality and flexibility as our tailor-made Servo Fusion range but for significantly less investment, making it a more commercially attractive AMC option to operators of standard tonnage."

The plug-and-play ServoCore system has been specifically developed to deliver a COTS solution for all merchant shipping sectors, offering shipbuilders faster installation and shorter lead times than conventional solutions.
