Swire Pacific Offshore Clinches an Award at the 16th Annual Business Awards 2015
Swire Pacific Offshore Operations (Pte) Ltd (SPO) won the prestigious award, Leadership in Sustainability, at the 16th Annual Business Awards Presentation & Gala Dinner held on Thursday, 1 October 2015 at the Shangri-La Hotel. The gala event was organised by the British Chamber of Commerce to give recognition to outstanding individuals and companies that have shown notable business excellence in various areas and was attended by more than 300 guests.
Simon Bennett, SPO's General Manager of Sustainable Development, received the award trophy from His Excellency Scott Wightman, the British High Commissioner. This is the first time that SPO has won this award.

This award is a great way to commemorate SPO's 40th and Singapore's 50th anniversaries this year," said the General Manager, Sustainable Development of SPO, Simon Bennett.
"SPO's sustainability efforts look at the potential to have a positive impact through the business operations itself. When a business begins to assess the ability to create a sustainable future beyond their philanthropic efforts, while it can be very challenging, it can also have a great impact," said award judge, Ariel Muller, Director, Forum for the Future, Asia-Pacific.
In line with its vision, "Excellence in Marine Services," SPO places strong emphasis on health and safety, the environment, and sustainable development. In April, SPO won the Singapore Registry of Shipping (SRS) Shipowner of the Year award at the Singapore International Maritime Awards (IMA) — organised by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA).
SPO has also been nominated as finalists for three award categories in the upcoming Seatrade Maritime Asia Awards, namely Ship Owner/Operator Award, Environment Protection Award, and Corporate Social Responsibility Award.
